Friction Guard Caps (F Style)

 
FRICTION GUARD-CAPS (F STYLE) are straight-sided, round, non-threaded caps. They go on easily, grip well and yet may be removed with little effort. FRICTION GUARD-CAPS are offered in nominal I.D.'s ranging from 1/16" up to 3" and are supplied (unless otherwise requested) in Opaque Red vinyl with a durometer of 60-70 Shore A.

How to choose a FRICTION GUARD-CAP

FRICTION GUARD-CAPS are intended to stretch over the parts to be covered and be retained by friction. When choosing a FRICTION GUARD-CAP, select a cap with an inside diameter near to BUT SLIGHTLY SMALLER THAN the outside diameter of the part to be covered.

Ordering Information
The complete part number for FRICTION GUARD-CAPS (F STYLE) has three segments: the tool number chosen from the table above, which defines the I.D.; the length code, which defines the inside length; and the material code, which specifies the material from which the cap is manufactured. A sample part number looks like this:
 
 
In the example above, the part number describes a FRICTION GUARD-CAP (F STYLE) with a nominal I.D. of 1/4", an inside length of 1.50" and made of Opaque Red vinyl. Note that the inside length chosen cannot exceed the maximum I.L. from the table above but may be of any length up to the maximum I.L. available.
